Tuition & Refund Policy
GYS limits our class size to small groups, usually between 4 and 10, believing this enhances the experience and training benefits for students and teachers. A cancellation may affect the continuity of training causing a cessation of an entire program. We believe our refund policy follows a spirit of fairness for all concerned. If you have any questions, please let us know.
Each course, module or workshop will have an enrollment deadline date. In the event registration numbers are not met by the specified date, GYS reserves the right to postpone or cancel the program.
Avoid disappointment. If planning to attend a program, book early.
Others may be waiting for you to join.
In the event of postponement, GYS will offer students the opportunity to transfer their registration and will hold the course fee as originally offered. In the event of GYS cancellation, see the refund policy below.
Some programs require an application fee (deposit) or the full tuition/course fee paid by a specified deadline to hold a registration.
This is a shared commitment between the Student and GYS regarding the training program. An early accepted registration guarantees the Student’s enrollment and provided the threshold minimum number of students is reached by the registration deadline, ensures the training proceeds as scheduled.
For RYT programs, tuition may be paid to GYS either in a discounted lump sum or on a pre-defined interest free payment schedule. As training progresses, from time to time, GYS will apply tuition funds held on behalf of the Student towards the cost of providing training, whether attended by the Student or not (unless missed training is pre-approved). Tuition must be current at all times; any default in payment will result in training suspension and/or program termination.
For CEC workshops or Yoga Fitness Modules, a deposit in an amount specified on that program's webpage or registration form is required for enrollment. The balance will be due and payable as stipulated, typically 7-14 days prior to the program's start.
The course fee includes pre-scheduled live virtual or classroom training, GYS manual in .pdf format, required text (if applicable), ongoing mentoring and, for RYT programs, the practicum series evaluations. Props are not included within the course fee. Note: GST is applicable to all fees. If requested a receipt will be issued for business expense purposes only.
In the event a student is not accepted into training or the GYS program does not commence as scheduled, the Student will receive 100% of their application fee/deposit and 100% of any prepaid course fee/tuition. Students may be offered an opportunity transfer enrollment to a future date.
Should a Student submit written notice of cancellation at least thirty (30) days prior to the program start date, GYS will refund 100% of the application fee/deposit (or equivalent if paid in full at the outset)* and 100% of any prepaid course fee/tuition balance. Should a Student submit written notice of cancellation within thirty (30) days but prior to 48 hours before start date, 0% of the application fee (or equivalent if paid in full at the outset) and 25% of any prepaid course fee/tuition balance will be held as a credit towards a future course*.
Any notice of cancellation received within 48 hours of the course start date will be considered a withdrawal (see below).
*If the student has been provided the training manual either in printed form or .pdf, a surcharge of $137.50 + GST will be deducted prior to calculating any refund. Similarly if the student has been provided a supplied text, the retail cost of the text will be deducted prior to calculating any refund.
In the event a notice of cancellation is received within 48 hours of the program's start date or on or after the program's start, 0% of the application fee/deposit is refundable and a withdrawal fee applied to any held prepaid course fee/tuition:
for programs less than four (4) weeks in duration, the entire course fee/tuition is forfeited.
for programs over four (4) weeks in duration, the equivalent of four (4) weeks additional training will be withheld from the course fee/tuition held by GYS, with the balance, if any, refunded.
In the event a Student needs to withdraw from an ongoing program due to illness, accident, or other circumstances that make it impractical for the Student to complete the course, GYS will provide a reasonable and fair refund of any course fees/tuition. The application fee/deposit is non-refundable.
In the event the Student would like to extend their RYT program training or transfer to a subsequent training, see the RYT Training & Attendance Policy for options. Fees may apply.
Refunds will be processed within 30 days of notice.
