Teacher Training/Workshop
Fees & Refunds

GYS limits our class size to small groups, usually between 4 and 10, believing this enhances the experience and training benefits for students and teachers.  A cancellation may affect the continuity of training causing a cessation of an entire program.  We believe our refund policy follows a spirit of fairness for all concerned. If you have any questions, please let us know.

Register Early!

Each course, module or workshop will have an enrollment deadline date. In the event registration numbers are not met by the specified date, GYS reserves the right to postpone or cancel the program.

Avoid disappointment. If planning to attend a program, book early.

Others may be waiting for you to join.

In the event of postponement, GYS will offer students the opportunity to transfer their registration and will hold the course fee as originally offered. In the event of GYS cancellation, see the refund policy below.

Program Fees/Deposits

Some programs require a deposit or for the full fee to be paid by a specified deadline to hold a registration. This is a shared commitment between the Student and GYS regarding the training program. An early accepted registration guarantees the Student’s enrollment and provided the threshold minimum number of students is reached by the registration deadline, ensures the training proceeds as scheduled.

For the Yoga Fitness/RYT Foundation or if noted for a GYS workshop a deposit in an amount specified on that program's webpage or registration form is required to hold enrollment. RYT core curriculum courses are to be paid in full upon registration except if a deposit option is offered. The balance, if any, will be due and payable as stipulated, typically 14+  days prior to the program's start. Any default in payment of an outstanding balance may result in training suspension and/or be considered a withdrawal.

Course fees include pre-scheduled live virtual or classroom training, GYS manual in .pdf format, required text (if applicable), ongoing mentoring and, for RYT programs only, the practicum series evaluations. Props are not included within the course fee.

Note:  GST is applicable to all fees.
If requested a receipt will be issued for business expense purposes only.

Refund Policy

In the event a student is not accepted into training or the GYS program does not commence as scheduled, the Student will receive 100% refund of their deposit/course fee. Students may be offered an opportunity to apply the full amount held by GYS as a credit towards the fee for a future program.

Should a Student submit written notice of cancellation at least 30 days prior to the program start date, the Student will be eligible for a 100% refund of the amount held by GYS or to apply it as a credit towards the fee for a future program. If the Student has been provided the course manual, no refund or credit s available*.

Should a Student submit written notice of cancellation within 30 days but prior to 48 hours before the start date, 100% of any amount received for enrollment will be retained by GYS with a 15% credit of the amount retained offered towards an alternate GYS program (offers expires 6 months from the cancellation date) with no credit available. If the Student has been provided the course manual, no refund is available, however, the 15% credit will apply.*

Any notice of cancellation received within 48 hours of the course start date will be considered a withdrawal (see below).

* Manuals are forwarded 5-10 days before the course start date unless requested by the Student for an early distribution (if available). Students will be deemed as withdrawn regardless of timeframe of notification.

If the student has been provided a supplied text, the retail cost of the text will be deducted prior to calculating any refund or credit.

Eligible refunds will be processed within 30 days of approved notice.

Withdrawal Fee

In the event a notice of cancellation is received within 48 hours of the program's start date or on or after the program's start, this will be considered a withdrawal with 0% of any deposit or program fee refundable by GYS.

Compassionate Withdrawal: in the event a Student needs to withdraw from an ongoing program due to illness, accident, or other circumstances that make it impractical for the Student to complete the course, GYS will provide a reasonable and fair refund based on factors such as verification of reason (if requested), prior attendance, program length, training materials provided, etc.  Based on a compassionate withdrawal the fee for a distributed course manual is equal to a minimum of 50% of the course fee and will be subtracted prior to any refund calculation; the retail cost of any supplied texts will also be deducted prior to calculations of refunds.
